SYMA X21 – S for those with a single hand
Today we’re checking out the SYMA X21 – S which is a brand new quadcopter from SYMA featuring altitude hold, a new single handed transmitter, flip mode, one key return, and auto takeoff/landing. You can also pick up the SYMA X21 with a normal transmitter or the SYMA X21W with WiFi FPV.
The X21 – S is small at only at 5.35 inches, and features an X framed design with a rather flat body, snap in prop guards, and a built in battery. On the top of the quadcopter you have the power button to start and stop the quadcopter and you can pick it up in black or white.
Due to the removable battery you’re limited to 5 minutes of flight time and then have to wait for recharging — no easy swapping of batteries. This could be a positive thing for a beginner but is likely to be a negative for a more experienced flyer.
The transmitter they include is able to be used with only one hand which is something they’ve never used and it’s very exciting to see. Exact details on how this transmitter will work are unknown but I am thinking it will use the control stick for yaw/throttle and possibly use a gyroscope for the pitch/roll.
Again this is just speculation so we’ll have to wait for it to come out to see.
Altitude hold is something great for beginners learning to fly but it may not be the favorite thing of more experience flyers since you lose a little bit of agility.
The SYMA X21 -S is definitely something I’ve never seen before and the one handed transmitter is really exciting to see. Flight times are only around 5 minutes which isn’t super great but to be honest I am interested in this quadcopter purely for the transmitter design. At this low of a price it’s definitely worth checking out and you can click the button below to do so.
